Track 01 The 109 Project Data is the starting point, not the destination. Numbers raise questions. Stories try to answer them. There is a playlist on Spotify that perhaps few remember by name, but that almost everyone has come across at least once. It s called the Billions Club, and it gathers every track that has surpassed one billion streams on the platform. To date, over 1,200 songs are in it, and nearly 1 million people have saved it to their accounts. 1 million is not a streaming gure. It is the number of people who have deliberately chosen to keep it close. This project is born from that very number. Music & Numbers created and directed by me, Amos Charts is a cultural analysis project of contemporary pop music (or whatever you prefer to call it).
