From the Temptations in 1964 to BTS, from the Spice Girls to Blackpink, all the way to Huntr/x, the virtual band born from a Netflix animated film in 2024. At the top of everything, One Direction: six billion songs as a group, eleven as solo artists — the defining case of this volume and perhaps of the entire history of boy bands. But there's more: an analysis of the "solo streams" — the billion songs that former members produced as solo artists, often surpassing the numbers of the group itself — and a look at who's still missing: the notable absentees like Little Mix, the most credible candidates to enter the club in 2026, and the bands that could surprise in the years ahead. Boy/Girl Bands and the Billion Songs Members (Classic Lineup) Beyonc  Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams. Lineup Changes The group's history was marred by frequent lineup changes. In 2000, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson were replaced,  rst by Farrah Franklin and subsequently by Michelle Williams. Farrah Franklin left just months later citing health reasons. From late 2000 onward, the powerhouse trio of Beyonc , Kelly, and Michelle became the de nitive lineup until their o cial disbandment in 2006. Activity 1990 2006. The group is disbanded, though they have reunited for occasional high pro le events, such as the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show and Beyonc 's 2023 Renaissance World Tour. Editorial Note As a collective group, Destiny's Child has only one billion stream track. However, that group gave the world Beyonc , and that changes everything. Say My Name is worth 1 billion streams. Beyonc 's solo catalog in the Billion Club is worth nearly 5 billion. This stands as the most extreme example in this book of the "group  as a launchpad" phenomenon: the artist who emerged from that structure went on to rede ne pop culture for the next twenty years. And let s not discount Kelly Rowland 2002's Dilemma remains one of the most heavily streamed R&B tracks of the pre streaming era, and its billion stream milestone cements its legacy.
