About this work These three short suites for guitar trio or ensemble, endowed with educational value and compositional interest, are easy to perform and require a beginner/ intermediate level of technical preparation. The compositions explore themes of discovery, small adventures and travel. They tell of places outside the city, as in A Promenade, of real or imaginary reduced green spaces, as in In the Enchanted Garden, and, finally, of a happy conclusion with A Journey That Ends Well. A Promenade The mini-suite presents three movements in classical style taking their cues from different settings. The first two movements, Through the Forest and On the Shore of the Lake, take the listener to places that are natural but still close to man. The last, At the Country Fair, is inspired by the gathering and social settings far from large population centers. In the Enchanted Garden The fairy-tale environment is the setting for the appearance of small animals that give life to dances and marches. The initial Ladybug Dance is followed by an evocative Snails Dance and finally by a rhythmic Ants March. A Journey That Ends Well A pensive moderate first movement gives way to a lively, sunny second and last movement.
