The bow at the beginning of the lesson
This is a demonstration of discipline as, in addition to being a greeting, it gets children used to there being somewhere where they have to concentrate hard.
The bow is an oriental gesture, which of course is used here as well.

Giving the password
This is a way of improving the memory. The teacher and the parent will have to find words and invent short phrases in four languages (Italian, English, French and German) that have something to do with the instrument and music.
In the thirty lessons a child has during the year, much more can be done than in the elementary and middle school classes where foreign languages are studied.
The words and musical terms will be useful when playing music with children of their own age from other countries. This is a necessity common to all those who study with the Suzuki Method.

Measuring the height of the instrument
The scroll should come up to the bridge of the child’s nose (with the head slightly bowed).
This is practically always the best way to measure an instrument.
