How to sit down

The child holds a tuft of his hair and, while looking up, sits down without leaning forward.

The position of the instrument

  • The child’s arm is relaxed and the cello is right in front of him
  • The spike should be just slightly to the right, with respect to the pupil’s nose
  • The instrument should be held to the left
  • Head straight
  • The child should widen his legs and bring the instrument
    towards him.

Sometimes a child cannot open his legs wide enough, so his left leg can stay under the instrument.

Spine straight

The back must be kept straight.
The correct position chair must be used.
