Now let’s start playing the instrument

The D string and the A string (then the G string and the C string)

The teacher sits behind the child and plucks the A or D string on his instrument. The child has to do the same thing on his instrument. Later the exercise is repeated on the G and C strings. To make it easier to distinguish between the two sounds, we start with two strings (D and A). Only when the child is absolutely sure of the sounds, does the teacher go on to the G and C strings. D and A will be used for a long time though. The same thing should be done singing.

Basic rhythms

These are played first on the D and then on the A strings. The basic rhythms must be played without mistakes, a pleasant sound and the right bow distribution.
