Don’t go on a motorbike

The three photos are self-explanatory: this very often happens if the roller-coaster is not explained properly. Motorbikes are dangerous – cellos are better!

Way above the clouds

This exercise is about silence and concentration. The bow is slowly drawn over a string at a distance of one or two centimetres. First count up to 10 and then go on up to 20. The child must keep very quiet and concentrate hard.
To be useful to concentration, without stopping the bow you can answer simple mathematical questions like «2+2», «4+3-1», «10+5-1+6».

The roller-coaster

The bow is held in the cello-hand, while the bow-hand draws a horizontal 8 just above the bow. The bow is on the strings and the wrist again draws a horizontal eight, with the fingers gripping the stick properly.
I got this idea from seeing a roller-coaster.
When I was young a little car ran on rails laid out in an figure of eight.
The car jerked whenever it went round one of the bends, and this is exactly what the child’s wrist should do to change string (or come round a bend).
