Stretch it out to the side and make it blink like a car indicator (or wellrelaxed fingers)

Open your fingers towards the fingerboard of the cello making “a fan”. Make some “shade”, by keeping your fingers just off the strings (D or A)

The strips on the fingerboard

The strips must be applied on the fingerboard at the first position (thin adhesive strips like those used for spraying bodywork). One strip is to be put at the first finger, the second one at the third finger and a third one at the fourth finger.
For the same reason two strips are put in the fourth position, at the first and fourth fingers and then another strip is to be put at the A and D harmonics.
The strips must be removed as soon as the child plays in tune and places his hand correctly (this usually happens in Book 4).
