Thumb position Q

To get the pupil to use thumb position Q, the whole of Book 1 should be studied again, including the rhythms and the D and G scales. Small children should not use the thumb position often. For older children, great care should be taken not to use the thumb position when practising Duport, Popper and Kreutzmacher.
