MASK

The mask is where the sound is amplified. The air and the sound pass through the pharyngeal cavity and the palate (fig. 6A) and resonate in the area between the eyes and the nose. Here, in this point of the face, imagine the attack of the sound and the speech (pay particular attention to consonants: don’t articulate them with the jaw, pronounce them as if you had a very hot potato in your mouth), although the sound comes from “downstairs”, from larynx, together with the air. Imagine the sound separated from the throat, so it will result lighter and more external (outer listening).
Move your lips forward for timbre and brilliance or, especially if you are a woman, shape them like a simile for softness and lightness.
