Lesson I

(For deep voices: perform a fourth below)

Now that we examined each single vocal technique, we will try to put them together.

EXERCISE N. 1

Sing with the mouth closed (humming). This is very useful to control if the diaphragm is contracted. It’s recommended closing the ears while singing. The external sound will result very light.
This exercise also helps to avoid sound swallowing.
Always maintain the sound at the speech level and in the mas.

Gradually go from humming with closed mouth to humming with open mouth.
