BODY POSTURE

To sing well, some parts of the body have to be in specific positions. Breathing involves the chest, the abdomen and the pelvis.
Sound resonances involve the neck and the jaw and its articulation. Many problems, related to posture, can occur while singing.
One of them is the increase of the lumbar lordosis during breathing. In this case, the horse riding posture can help.
Staying in this position, control the diaphragm: first, maintain it down and expanded (appoggio) to let the air pass, then gradually raise the diaphragm (sostegno) pushing down and forward constantly.
This position, no matter how long, implicates muscular work that can cause other tensions.
To prevent them, keep the legs slightly open and the knees slightly bent.
