Orchestra Right from the Start A progressive and multileveled path for didactic orchestra in 3 volumes Introduction of the collection This volume is part of a collection that wants to support and encourage ensemble music for students since their debut in the instrumental path, from the last years of Primary school, but certainly and in a more fully way form the middle school years. The involvement of students in these experiences is rewarding and motivating, but is also important for developing skills such as listening to each other, beat assimilation, the meter, and the improvement of dynamic control. The pieces have been the subject of extensive experimentation in different contexts, in the phases of start-up of ensemble experiences, but also as a consolidation of the overall practice for the achievement of higher objectives. Musical content of the 3 volumes Level 1 American Echoes Disclapping Music + Cluck Old Hen Two tunes to come in contact with the american sonorities: minimalism and the rural tradition of the South of the USA. Level 2 North Seas Gavotte s Suite + Nordik Medley Two tunes with different parts in a dialog, modes and harmonies that introduce to the dances of cultures connected to the sea of Brittany and Scandinavia. Level 3 East and West The Winter s Jig + East Two tunes inspired by these fascinating traditions: Irish music and Jewish Klezmer music. Progression and cultural enrichment The tunes are presented in a progression and they have a low level of difficulty, since their aim is to focus the pupils attention on the ensemble sonorities construction. The collection is divided into three volumes to offer a multiannual course to teachers. The aim is create experiences that could be formative from a technical point of view and that could enrich pupils musical experience. Playing music together should be the occasion to get familiar with the European classical music history as well as other traditions near or far from us. In these volumes there are reworkings of the traditional repertoire, original compositions with references to defined genres, or inspired by them, where elements and practices are consistent with them. On the presentation pages of each piece, the teacher will find useful cultural information and those necessary for the performance. Medley, suite and modularity When the pieces are related to dance, they are presented in a medley or suite form.
