Maurizio Rosso, nato ad Alba nel 1963, è scrittore, giornalista pubblicista e Direttore Marketing ed Export Manager della Cantina Gigi Rosso, azienda di famiglia nel cuore della zona del Barolo. Laureato in Lingue e Letterature Straniere all'Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia, ha approfondito gli studi in Letteratura Angloamericana presso la University of California Santa Cruz, sviluppando una formazione umanistica che ha saputo intrecciare con la profonda conoscenza del territorio delle Langhe. La sua produzione letteraria spazia dalla saggistica alla narrativa: tra le sue opere figurano Piemontesi nel Far-west (1990), studio sull'emigrazione piemontese in California, Barolo: Personaggi e mito (2000) e Barolo. Mito di Langa, analisi storico-culturali del grande vino delle Langhe che esplorano territorio, tradizioni produttive e personaggi che hanno costruito la leggenda di questo rosso piemontese. Ha inoltre pubblicato Il castello dei Catari (1996), vincitore del Premio del Presidente "Cesare Pavese" nel 1997, e il romanzo L'amante di Socrate (2006), ambientato nell'Antica Grecia. Dal 1988 gestisce le relazioni commerciali della Cantina Gigi Rosso in Europa, Nord America e Asia, parlando fluentemente cinque lingue. Giornalista pubblicista dal 1985, collabora con testate locali e regionali piemontesi.
