It is precisely among these rooms, imbued with memory and stories, that we met Andrea Desana and his countless tales.
His surname is inextricably linked to one of the fundamental chapters of italian wine legislation: Law-Decree no. 930 of the Italian Constitution, dated July 12 in 1963, which regulates the Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) for wine. This is because Paolo Desana – Andrea’s father, Senator of the Republic from 1958 in the ranks of the Christian Democracy and a man with a strong commitment to historical civil battles – was the main promoter and first signatory of the law that sanctioned the birth of the Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC). This regulation represents a watershed in the protection of the quality, origin, and dignity of our wines, consolidating the identity of Italian wine at national and international levels.
